Any blind or visually impaired people in Ohio?

Ok, I wasn't sure of where to put this, so I hope it's in the right board. But I might move from Minnesota back home to Ohio, northeastern Ohio near Cleveland, and I was wondering if anyone knows other people who might live in that area who are blind? I'm taking a braille proofreading course, and when I'm done, I'd like to start looking for work. So if I do move, which is ok, I'd like to have a job, and know people to. Ohio is just one option, just because my family lives there to since I'm originally from there. But I've really gotta find a place that prints a lot or if they print at all, someone to make sure there's no errors in the braille. Obviously you probably got that much from the braille proofreading job title. But I didn't wanna put this in the job hunt board because I'm not looking for the job yet, because I'm not done with the course. I just don't know if Ohio is a good place to be, or somewhere else. And it's not like I want to be friends with just blind people, but to know some blind folks would be great to start out with, since I have a hard time making friends with sighted people. It's always been easier for me to make friends with people who have disabilities more for whatever reason. I guess another reason why I was wondering about people who are visually impaired or blind, is because if you find the right people who might work at an organization or something, they might know who I can talk to to get a job. But most of the friends I use to have that I use to know have moved away, but some are still lingering around, so if Ohio is the place to go, then I guess it won't be so bad. I just don't wanna move to some city I don't know, and not know anyone. That's a pretty scary thing. Anyway, I'm done rambling now, and if I put this in the wrong board, I'm sorry. So if anyone has any advice or suggestions, please let me know.

You might want to contact the Cleveland Sight Center (www.clevelandsightcenter.org) to see if they can answer any of your questions about job prospects and need for Braille transcribers in that part of Ohio.

You may also want to check with Clovernook. I know that there's a center in Cincinnati, and there's one in TN, too, in Memphis, I believe.

Cleveland also has a branch of NLS, and someone there may be able to help you. (1-800-362-1262).
